Photographs of walls taken the world over by these women direct the readers gaze towards that which is sometimes taken for granted. The tactile and textual mingle in these images, the metaphoric and allegorical space defined from with in and throught. Walls as the site of socio-cultural demonstration of status or dissent. Walls as time based sculptures that bare the patina of age. Walls that hold in or out, frame or are framed by the landscape. Decay on the made environs of our city and streets, the debrise of facades from different times facinated the photographers and the publisher alike. The books are color xeroxed by K., the endsheets are Svetcia Antigua, bound onto tapes and mounted into the Stone Facade Paper wraps with transfer adhesive. The paper covers were torn to size by Erica Harris and Shanti. The covers bear the stencil with gesso done on the Marsh stencil maker.
