Stress Positions is a collaborative project by Organik (Kurt Allerslev, Marshall Weber and Christopher Wilde) with guest artist Laura Smith. The book is an illuminated manuscript, a meditation on the blurred lines between dream, hallucination, nightmare, and torture fatigue. The artists worked on the book for a full year both simultaneously and by passing the book off to one another.
Christopher Wilde designed the multi-layed page design, an indicator of Stress Positions place as the third book in the "Long Book" series that started three years ago with the book Your Death followed in 2005 by Where is My Body. The "Long Book" series is an open cycle of incantations regarding mortality.
Organik is a collaborative group that creates books, paintings and installations in a unique, intimate, spontaneous and passionate mode of choreographed artmaking. Laura Smith is a Brooklyn basewd painter who is a frequent collaborator on the "Long Book" series.
